SCRIP Program

Scrip Fundraising Program

The fundraiser that works while you shop!

Scrip is a fundraiser provided by our band that is offered throughout the school year and the program does not require students to sell anything.  When you purchase gift cards through the Scrip program, your band student earns credits to their trip account and the band program earns revenue.

SCRIP Coordinator  —  TBD

How the Program Works

Families can order gift cards from a wide variety of merchants that participate in the Scrip program. You pay for them at face value; there are no additional fees charged to purchase them. Each month the band’s Scrip Coordinator will purchase these gift cards from a central provider at a discounted rate; the difference between the retail and the discount rate or rebate becomes our profit.  Individual student account receives credit for 90% of the rebate while the band account receives 10% of the rebate. Discounts range from a low of 1.5% up to as much as 25% from some retailers.  When you go to a merchant or restaurant, simply use these gift cards instead of using cash or credit cards. They are worth their full face value.

By using our Scrip program to pay for goods and services in stores where you already shop, you can help the band booster raise money to support the band. Scrip is exciting because everyone wins! The retailers get cash up front and your repeat business. You get a powerful fundraising alternative that generates credits for your student’s account and revenue for the band without your student having to sell anything.

Scrip can be used for just about any household purchases including groceries, clothing, entertainment, gasoline, dining out and even vacations. Scrip makes buying gifts for birthdays, special occasions and college students easy. Everyone loves receiving gift cards!

Support from your family alone can generate profits for the band every time you shop.  This profit becomes an automatic source of revenue for our organization.  If 100 families purchased $225 in Scrip gift cards once a month throughout the school year averaging a 5% return, our organization would raise over $10,000!

Orders will be due at the Band Booster meetings. The first order is due September 14, 2015.
